Activities and Projects

IHS society members are hosta gardening enthusiasts who gather regularly to learn more about shade gardening, work together on club and community projects, and share our gardening experiences with each other and the public.

Our yearly program is varied with at least one activity each month. Monthly events range from speakers (both national and local) to plant sales, from a hosta leaf show and plant sale to our fall banquet. We publish email and social media content plus participate in garden shows where we answer questions and provide literature related to hosta gardening topics. It’s a full year of fun, friendship and hostas!

Membership is open to all who support the mission of the society. Benefits of membership in the IHS include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Eight educational meetings with both local and nationally recognized speakers.
  • Great Lakes Region Hosta College discount.
  • Plant(s) of the Year offer.
